March, 16th, Moscow - The VI International Russian Rotary Children Music Competition by Cetelem (Russia) was held in Tchaikovsky Conservatory. This competition was established in 2002 to provide a continuous support for young talented Russian musicians aged between the ages of eight and thirteen who play piano, violin, viola, violoncello or wind instrument.
Children from all over Russia as well as from the other countries take part in the Competition provides opportunities to those who would like to make this their life's work.. The best European music schools and Rotary clubs in 20 countries and 68 cities worldwide have been participating in the Competitions for more than 5 years since its establishment. During the Contest 14 best young musicians are being selected for the semifinals and 7 strive for a first place during a final part. The winners of the Competition receive scholarships for the following year.
This year the jury selected Garcia Martin, 11-years-old pianist from Spain. The first prize was solemnly bestowed to the young musician by Nicolas Zweguintzow, Commercial Director of Cetelem in Russia, member of the Advisory Council of the Competition. The second prize went to a young musician from Kurgan (Russia) Ruslan Shainazarov; Dmitry Tyurin from Nizhny Novgorod was awarded with the third prize. Sara Zaitmann from France received the Audience Choice Award. All finalists were honored with diplomas and received scholarships. During 2008 season the young artists will have concerts in Russia, Italy, Germany and France.
